About Oxford, MD - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The waterfront town of Oxford is found in Talbot County, Maryland. This former colonial port is home to about 620 year-round residents, and it is one of the oldest towns in the State of Maryland. It was officially founded in 1683, and it was a prosperous community until the end of the American Revolution. Completion of the railroad in 1871 brought some new growth, but since the 2000 census, population numbers have steadily declined.

There are plenty of things to see and do in the small town of Oxford. The Oxford-Bellevue Ferry is a hotspot for visitors, and to spend even more time on the water you may wish to check out Dockside Boat Rentals or Oxford Charters. Historic sites here include the Oxford Museum and Custom House, and specialty shops like Sea Captain’s Lady and the Treasure Chest offer unique local gifts. Oxford is also home to many unique local restaurants, including Capsize OXMD, The Robert Morris Inn, and the extremely popular Scottish Highland Creamery.

Whether you live in or plan to visit Oxford, you’ll need both home cooling and heating systems to stay comfortable year round. A gas or electric furnace is a necessity during the winter, but the good news is conditions here are milder than other parts of the U.S. Daily highs reach into the upper-40s, but overnight lows often fall below freezing. With the right heating system at home, your utility costs will stay affordable regardless of how cold it gets outdoors.

Climate controls are also a necessity during the summer months. Oxford is found within a humid subtropical zone, so average daily highs reach into the 80s. Muggy air from the Atlantic Ocean can make it feel even hotter than indicated on the thermostat. A central air conditioner will keep interior conditions cool while also improving indoor air quality.
